the makings of....

...salad and 'poor man's' or 'California' capers.

Since the enormous conifer has gone (sad but necessary) nasturtiums have taken over and cascade across the garden at the front of the house.
Today it was time for a thinning of the nasturtium invasion leaving a carpet of seeds.
A simple recipe is to boil vinegar, salt and peppercorns and pour over the sees and further flavour with a selections of allsorts:
lemon
garlic
springs of thyme and oregano
bay leaves

bring on the smoked salmon and thin sliced brown bread :)
