Country House Tour
An annual event in our town is the Potomac Country House Tour. This event is run by the local Episcopal Church and has been going on for 58 years. Each year, 4-5 unique homes are selected and are opened to the public for a fee, all of which goes to support many local charities. This is one of the houses on the tour this year. I have lived here for 30 years so I have been on the house tour a number of times, and this was the most extraordinary house I have seen yet in terms of size and opulence. It’s a house that was built for entertaining on a very large scale.
I have driven by this particular house a number of times, as it was being built over the last 6 years (yes…6 years to build it). In fact, this Mono-Monday blip was taken right across the street from one of the gated entrances to this house. I noticed today that they have since uprighted that pole and mailbox.
If you are interested, here is some more information about the house. You can decide for yourself…...
They did not allow photos indoors, so if you would like to see the interior, it is here.
