Crossing the Bridge

It is an extraordinary autumn day, and so I couldn’t get out of the house fast enough this morning.  I had decided last night, after some research, to go to a place I had never been before, the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Northern Virginia.  This place is less than 20 miles from my home, but is “across the river” and so it was completely off my radar.  It was extremely beautiful and I spent a lovely 3 hours there with my camera enjoying the flowers and many pollinators, as well as the beautiful scenery.  All time well spent and my weekend weather funk is completely gone.  

I am kicking myself that I didn’t take note of this unusual plant so I will definitely have to go back here.
