A Bit Of Fresh Eyre

Day 6 of Roadtrip: Romania to Serbia.

Following last night I was very much not in the mood for anything. Fortunately Adrian had to go and get his wheel fixed so a morning of relaxation was welcomed. The air-conditioned Audi shaped ambulance was also very much welcomed.

The day of being in comfort definitely made me feel sorry for Arron and Beni stuck in the Saab. Such a shame it was the thing that broke and so close to the trip - especially since it is such an easy part to replace.

Still - the other cars weren't having a great time either. Today was the 850's turn to throw a wobbly; seemingly having a broken alternator which was mucking with the ABS system as well. Nevertheless that seemed to fix itself so once people had enjoyed ice creams (and I remained cool inside) we set off.

The day's roads were nothing majorly special. Some nice mountain roads but bumpy and frankly nothing can top yesterday. It was interesting however that once we crossed the rather impressive border the roads did become smoother. There were still patches of tarmac missing, but overall it was nicer. Even so we weren't on the road for long in Serbia; a quick stop for fuel where we met another Brit cycling across the country before arriving soon at the guesthouse.

This could almost be called luxurious. A country retreat with wonderful gardens and surrounded by forest. So luxurious the rooms had extra beds for show. Naturally.
The BBQ in the evening was a lovely way to round things off, even if I couldn't enjoy it fully still. But an early night I could enjoy.
