Etymology:- "A Shedload"

I must have first heard of the expression a shedload of (objects) some five or six years ago.

It is sometimes heard in the context of a surplus of materials suffering some mishap or having a surplus quantity available.

Some think it might have originated in the context of a lorry has shed its load. However that explanation does not appeal to me.

It is also possible that the expression had vulgar origins.

However whatever the origin of the expression, there may be little doubt that it truly applies to our wood store, seen here and I am happy to to see it so applied to the logs.
