Donyatt Church

It is my Mum's birthday on Monday, so we went down to Chard to celebrate with her today. Of course, we had to wait for the kids to finish their various activities this morning - Brownies for Alice (she's a Young Leader) and football for Adam. Boy, did he get soaked at his match! Didn't seem to affect their performance though - they won 10:0!

I also had to collect my Ebay winnings from Hartley Wintney. I successfully bid on a vintage vanity case, which I want to use as a sewing case for the retreat I am going on later this month. Very pleased with that.

We took my Mum and Dad out to The George at Donyatt, and we pulled in to the car park just as the sun was going down. As it is a proper little village, the church backs on to the pub car park, and the setting sunlight on the steeple looked lovely. Lovely meal, and then an easy drive back up the A303.
