Bocairent
We walked from outside this town along "the path of steps" - an old mule track using steps cut into the rock. The track was used to carry textiles manufactured in the now derelict mills in the ravine. It was hard to believe that these mills had once been powered by water as the ravine was almost completely dry.
While we were in the ravine we saw griffon vultures - there are several reintroduction programmes in the area.
There were good views of Bocairent and its Hermitage (seen here to the right of the town, on the ridge) as we returned and we finished by walking up into the town. Then it was a choice between having a beer in one of the squares or exploring the town - and guess what we all ended up doing!
Looks better large.
