Engagement Present

This china is part of a tea service given to my Grandmother on the occasion of her engagement to my Grandfather. Great Grandmother however, didn't think it a suitable item for a young girl to own, and it was promptly put out of sight and didn't see the light of day again until many years later. It was never used and eventually my mother had the task of looking after it; again after another long passage of time it was passed to me.

I believe the value in monetary terms is nil - but in terms of family interest and sentiment it's absolutely priceless.
