They Can't Teach You Vision In School

Heartside Art Gallery entered a 15 piece collective entry into the crazy art contest we have every year in Grand Rapids called ArtPrize - popular voting and juried voting - and their entry ended up in the top five 2D category from one jurist! We were all thrilled but a local art professor objected as he thought the artists were not schooled enough.

The gallery/studio is open to anyone from the neighborhood. They can come in and create art in a safe place, kick out some inspired work, and maybe make some money. These shirts, designed by one of the artists and printed by another, were a reaction to the professor's rather unkind words :-)
