Starting Over

Well, as you may have noticed, I fell off the Blipfoto wagon for awhile. This summer of work/travel/company was a killer, and by the time September hit I'd lost my mojo. Creativity at an all-time low.

But things have slowed a bit, and I'm getting used to my new work schedule, and I'm starting over. Day 1/365.

My photography class went on a field trip to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park on Sunday. I wasn't able to go with the group because of work, but I went to the location yesterday for a field trip of one, and had the most wonderful time on the river practicing water shots. The river is the Middle Prong of the Little River just inside the park.

There is a hiking trail at the end of the 4+ mile gravel road that meanders up the mountain following the river, but time ran short, what with all the pulling over and scrambling up and down the river banks taking pictures that I did on the way to the trailhead, and I wasn't able to make the hike. Next week I plan to go back and just do the hike.

LESSON LEARNED: You really do need a good polarizer for water images. I have a not-so-great one for the lens I was using yesterday, and came away disappointed with many of the shots.
