University of Glasgow Garscube Estate
I'm really fortunate to have the University of Glasgow's Garscube Estate on my doorstep. It's a beautiful area with the River Kelvin flowing through it. The campus is home to the Garscube Sports Complex, Wolfson Hall and Kelvin Conference Centre, the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, the School of Veterinary Medicine, which includes the Small Animal Hospital, the Weipers Centre for Equine Welfare and the Scottish Centre for Production Animal Health and Food Safety. Locally we just refer to the complex as "the vet school", considerably underestimating what goes on over there. There's also the Science Park and some halls of residence for the students.
This photo was taken about 8.30 this morning, you can see quite a few students heading to lectures at the Wolfson building. They are all so friendly and happy, even at that time of the day - but it is early in the semester I suppose. I really like this shot, I like the hint of autumn with the low morning sun and the last of this morning's frost just starting to evaporate.
