Dapper Lad

I am pattern testing Holiday patterns for a patternmaker this week. I work with her a lot. She asked if I was interested in testing some boy patterns on Katie. Today I finished her "Dapper Lad" waistcoat, with a modified twirly skirt. She was put out that she wasnt allowed to wear it for school!

Proud mama today. She did really well in her one to one lesson - lots of writing, reading and higher level phonics. But more proud because she got 3 marbles today. One for nice manners, one for being a kind friend (and it was commented to her that they'd noticed she'd had several for being a kind friend) and one for something she couldnt remember! She also told me she did some writing with Mrs H. last week. She wrote sentences including "the dog sat on a mat".

Granny and Grandad were at our house when we got home from school. Her and Grandad had a lovely play in the garden. He told me I have missed an important diary moment in Katie's journal - the fact that she has learnt to catch. He asked when it happened. And I know exactly when! On Sunday afternoon!! We played in the garden, just her and I, and it clicked. She was catching the ball every time.
