Stand of trees

Having spent the morning catching up on some household chores the beautiful weather enticed us out for a walk.

Having consulted our maps and guide books we settled on a new walk near Helmsley. This took in forest, moors and tumuli. The latter had all been excavated at some point but I could find nothing out about them. This was surprising given the number we discovered on East Moor.

On the way back to the car we encountered this stand of trees set against the Tabular hills that characterise this part of the world.
