Today’s delivery!!

Three new books that I ordered recently!! The top two are recommendations by Blippers (thank you) and the third, Testament of Youth, is a book that I’ve wanted to get for ages and took this opportunity to buy it. The bottom book was bought in a Tea Shop at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln on a recent visit.

It’s not that I’m short of reading material, but I cannot resist a good book to add to the pile my colllection!!

The visit to the WW1 exhibition yesterday has prompted me to look at the details I have about a great great uncle who died in France 3 weeks before the end of the war. His sister was a nurse, also in France, fortunately she survived. She sailed to Sidney on the Euripides in 1920.

That was as much as I had found about her when searching about 8 years ago. A quick trawl on the net this morning turned up her marriage in 1926 and death in 1945. I need to contact the records people in Sydney to get certificates which should give me more details, if they are as comprehensive as the Scottish ones!!
