The Last of the Homestead Color

I promise this will be the last of the season's
color photos. [Well, maybe!] this photo shows
a field my Dad cleared when he was homesteading. [you can't see the field in the photo.]

As a child, I spent time in this field: Making hay,
fetching cows, picking stones and lastly driving
the truck to load hay bails. I hated that job. It
was a manual clutch and difficult to drive. releasing
the clutch so that I would not jerk the load of bails
was a not-welcome challenge!
