Lloyd Street....

The relocation of the Cenotaph has brought the back of the Town Hall more in to the public's conciousness. While no where near as stunning as the Albert Square facade, it is a think of beauty that compliments the more austere Cenotaph perfectly.

I also like the view from the Cenotaph up Lloyd Street into Albert Square and the one back from Albert Square to the Cenotaph. I love the two bridges that connect the two parts of the Town Hall. It reminds me of Venice. Only x2. In a city that doesn't have vistas, for a few days we had one.

I say 'had' because the plan called for the planting of this tree which has already blocked the view of the Cenotaph from Albert Square. It was perfect for a few days and with a little thought it could have been retained.

But this tree is small beer compared with the desecration of Library Walk on the other side of the Town Hall Extension.
