Kristine and Don Get Married!

We had a splendid day attending the wedding of Kristine and Don. It was such a delightful and beautiful ceremony, done in the Shambala Buddhist tradition. Here they are, after the vows and exchanging of rings etc.

We were then treated to a never ending supply of delicious appetizers and an open bar! A fiddler and piano player kept many folks up doing traditional Cape Breton Square dancing. I waited till the interval.....like lots of other folks did.....before i took the dance floor and had a blast to some great old Motown tunes! Terry doesn't dance, luckily this doesn't phase me one bit, i tend to enjoy dancing to my own rhythm and by myself. orbiting around the other dancers - mostly women of course....and had an absolute blast. i'm sure my legs will be complaining tomorrow!

What a fabulous celebration......first time i've attended a Buddhist marriage ceremony and i have to tell you i love what was said and what wasn't said! very different from any 'traditional' wedding i've attended!

Just a note about the sunglasses worn by Don! This wasn't done for effect, altho it does look pretty damn cool i think...somewhere between Rock Star and Fantasy Island! Poor guy had an operation a week ago on his eye to reattach the retina! He was supposed to be laying down for 2 weeks while it healed....and in fact he spent much of the party like this!
