Pelican Parade

Let the backblipping commence.... :)

It's our first morning at Big Bear Lake. It is a really beautiful area! I walked Zulu down to the lake edge and the first thing I see are these gorgeous white pelicans. I had so much fun shooting them! I have several photos of them landing on the lake. It's like watching airplanes land. First come the landing gear (big webbed feet) then the flaps are raised (wings) nose up then splash. Pretty cool. I also saw a Great Blue Heron and come to find out, he seems to like this part of the lake as I saw him everyday here. I got some great shots of him as well since he didn't spook easily like the ones around my home. The weather is perfect!
