The Thatched Cottage

Today's Plan A was to do some gardening, but shortly after 9, it started raining, so Plan B came into play ... a batch of spicy tomato relish made (which resulted in a shiny saucepan!) and the first 4 kg of pickling onions prepared. Then the sun put in an appearance, so off I went to Stourhead for a breath of fresh, onion-free air. The autumn colours are starting to show but won't be at their peak until November.

Two other items of news... Strictly is back on, yippee! But on the down side, Sgt Pepper's Only Dart Board Band are calling it a day after nearly 20 years, and are about to embark on their farewell tour. Still, we have tickets for next Saturday night's performance.
