Slimy...

..Beech Cap or to be fancy Oudemansiella mucida, or to be fantastical, fairy stool :-)

On one of our weekend wanders we saw loads of mushrooms, so today I took my Mum for a wee fungi forage as she's very into mushrooms. We found a huge variety. I like the look of this Slimy Beech Cap, a bit hard to photograph against the bright sunny sky as it is wet on top and so very shiny.
Another beautiful late Summer's day, perfect for grubbing around in the undergrowth and a leisurely stroll.

I'm sure I'm under attack, probably from the cold Amber has, so it is time to knock back a Lemsip (although Mum suggested hot rum - tempting) and get my weary limbs to bed.
