Vaison la Romaine

Vaison la Romaine has one of the biggest markets in France taking place every Tuesday. We spent the morning there and later, when everything had quietened down we explored the Roman remains and the medieval old town. This is reached by crossing the Roman bridge and then climbing through narrow winding streets as in this picture to the ruined chateau from which the panoramic views are superb.
