Waving at Trains
Today I took a trip with my favourite little person. We drove into Salisbury and got the train down to Southampton. I had some shopping to do (not terribly exciting Ikea shopping, and looking at endless sofas in John Lewis!) but we made a fun day of it. We popped into John Lewis cafe for a free coffee and cake (before they stop issuing the vouchers to JL cardholders) and enjoyed the amazing view over the shops and docks below. The cafe is on the top floor with floor-to-ceiling windows which Ted spent the entire time covering with smeary carrot-cakey fingerprints as he pointed at the vehicles, cranes and cruise ship below us.
Cake consumed, we browsed sofas and fabrics, then hit Ikea which was completely painless as Ted crashed out in a cake-coma in the pushchair while I shopped. Job done, we headed to West Quay shopping centre for a lunch of tacos, mmm!
Back on the train and it was almost dinner time. A fun, if exhausting, day out.
