To Really Go Around the Mulberry Bush

We have never had such a crop of mulberries before.

All the old methods of picking have been tried. This includes the shaking method, seen here. Mulberries do not all ripen at the same time. If the tree is shaken, ripe and unripe berries fall at the same time. The ripe ones then splatter on the white sheet and which produces a predictable amount of laundry and the unripe ones are wasted.

However that does not stop the exercise being a great deal of fun.

Perhaps the best way is to use a long bamboo cane and just tap each ripe berry and it will fall.
