Egg

This afternoon I've been out and about taking photos with the camera I borrowed for the weekend from college. It's a Nikon D300, a bit more complicated than my camera phone (and a lot heavier!). Sticking only to manual settings and shooting in RAW, just getting used to the controls and settings, playing and experimenting..
This photo was taken with my phone, though. It's the sandstone egg just outside Penpont which Andy Goldsworthy, a famous land sculptor who lives in the village, made to mark the new millennium. I've heard a rumour that when he dies, his ashes are going to be put underneath it, but that may only be an urban myth. The sculpture is about ten feet high.
I've spent the rest of the afternoon at Drumlanrig. The light is beautiful.
