Northumberlandia
Charles Jencks, who has a lot of earth sculptures at Jupiter Artland, and one outside the Modern Art Gallery in Edinburgh, designed this female form, lying on her back, thus reclaiming what was once a huge open cast mine. It was a controversial move and some people objected but It is a wonderful public space now, and was a fun walk with Thomas on our way to taking him home to Whitley Bay. We climbed onto her forehead and looked down over her nose to very prominent breasts - I took plenty pictures but prefer this one. If you look closely you can see tiny people climbing up the path on her face, and also on her breasts.
