The Boss woke with an election hangover this morning. Of course I had no idea what that actually was, not having ever had any personal experience of such occasions. But that is what he said as he packed his camera bag with cereal bars and a drink and topped up my treat bag. It appears that all the dirty politics and insinuations made by Non New Zealand residents and computer hackers with a view to changing the possible outcomes of this election thingie, sorta back fired and the current lot become even more current. It seems that the masses were not amused and The Boss was duly impressed with his fellow citizens ability to not be distracted by what some commentators have called a “Sound and Light Show”. Anyway I must point out that the hangover was not alcohol related he just wanted a long walk. The day was ideal for this as the sky was undecided when we started but went wonderful colours by the time we were passing the Golf Course and The Boss got his biggest glass out.
This is Mt Maude and the lower white clouds against the coloured sky did not last long but long enough.
It was a great walkathon (4 hours) and we met a lot of friends, (Hi Mo!), one of whom had been overseas and told me how she had really enjoyed getting the “Tales” every day and following the local action. I tried not to get her skirt muddy when I showed appreciation. (A Wheaten thing…OK).
When we got bark The Boss practised his chain saw imitations while I mapped remaining sunny bits on the floor. I do think the chain needs sharpening.
