All alone in the rain
The weather gods joined with this of us who had wanted a change of Government yesterday; the day has been grey and cold and wet.
I did make it out in time to catch the effects of the sunrise, here seen casting a broad and bright beam across the water of Kawau Bay at high tide. On a triangular protrusion of beach into the water, stood a solitary torea (oyster catcher); not even the gulls had emerged. One more Sunday sunrise, this one focussed on the bird rather than the sky. (Looks good large)
I watched the election results on TV last night; Mr H wanted to stay up until we were sure of what the result would be. Actually, the very early results raised my suspicions that this was not going to be a good night for the Labour Party. We hoped for a compensating rise in support for the Green Party, and that failed to eventuate (so far anyway). Daughter Jesafly is very despondent.
I think it shows what happens when the "left" turns to infighting instead of focussing fiercely on challenging the Government.
