Fire in the hole

Well that's it then.... the end of an incredible holiday and the curtain is about to come down / fire has stopped play. We're back in San Francisco after a gentle 200 mile drive from Yosemite. That's 1200 miles in just under a week but how easy it is to cruise over here. We started the day playing a lovely 9 hole golf course (Lady A's first and the start of many) in the Yosemite mountains then we had to drive through the bush fires that are ravaging certain areas of the parks. This Blip is not of fog or mist but of forest fires and the smoke is unbearable when you're out in it. We have other photos of blackened trees and restaurants / petrol stations that have been abandoned. We feel we haven't done this vast area justice in the 3 days we were present but we'll be back - maybe in winter next time

A long 11hr flight back to Blighty awaits us tomorrow but what a 15 days. Hope you've enjoyed the ride - we have.
