Box Bug

I've found this species before on various chalk downland sites in the Chilterns, but today it appeared in my garden - on clay and at least 15 miles from the nearest bit of the Chilterns, where it might be expected. Clearly, this lovely shieldbug with the 'big shoulders' is spreading very successfully, like a number of other insects this year. It was named from its close association with Box Hill in Surrey during the 1800s.
