Gothic and then some

This afternoon we arrived in Voiron, near Grenoble. This is our stop off before making our way down to Provence tomorrow. The town is the main gateway to the Chartreuse and, as you would expect, nestles amongst high mountains. I was hoping to post a picture of the mountains but, with showery weather and poor visibility, this wasn’t to be.

So here is the amazing Church of Saint Bruno, which dominates the town and the skyline with its huge spires. Built in 1872, it is a fantastic example of neo-gothic architecture.

This is for Sheil and Will, who by sheer coincidence will be here in this very place in a week or two.
