Victory

Please don't read too much into my choice of blip today: Stirling Bridge, scene of victory by William Wallace and his forces against the English in the First War of Scottish Independence. It is also possible to see the Wallace Monument in the background.

I was pleased with the overall result of the referendum and delighted that over 90% of the Stirling electorate turned out to vote by a convincing majority to stay within the UK.

Thank goodness it's all over! Let us hope that we can now move on, heal the rifts that have been caused by the referendum issue between families, friends and communities, and look to a better future for all of us with the new powers bestowed on the Scottish Parliament.
