At the Zoo

Only a few drops of the predicted rain :-( So we went to the zoo for our afternoon with Fiona. My favorite today was the antics of the Asian small-clawed otters that the zoo acquired about a year ago. They are the smallest otters, half the size of River otters , and are endangered because of loss of habitat ( for many reasons). The pair has had 2 litters of 4 so there are now 10 otters cavorting around and being studied. (5 in this picture). When asked what Fiona’s favorite was she said 1) the carousel 2) the otter she made in a machine from a penny and 3) the playground. What about the animals, Fi?? Well, she enjoyed showing her Dino stuffy Rexie around in the stroller. Dinner here and then she still loves to make us “tea” from the silver tea set that sits on the red dog.
