I've just voted.

Tonight i put my cross on my postal vote, I've been putting it off as it seems like such an overwhelming thing to do. I will be heading down to the polling station very early tomorrow to hand it in with the kids. Though on second thoughts I might not actually hand in the kids, I'll probably take them back out with me.

And today? Well it was a very early start and a very late finish right through to 9 at work but in between I dashed into town to do an hour on the stall, I just had to do one more shift. I missed the arrival of the TV cameras and I'm glad about that. In between handing out loads of stickers I had three 10 minute conversations, firstly with an undecided (yes! There really are still undecided folk out there!), secondly with an Ulster unionist (we parted better than he started!) and thirdly a yes voter with really good in depth questions, which I roped in a local MSP to help me answer. So it really is all to play for tomorrow.

We are all so very tired but here we are, polling eve, and it's all quieting down tonight, people are quietly letting their cauldron of emotions bubble up and wash over them and sending best wishes messages to everyone, yes and no. I'm looking forward to being at the Aberdeenshire count tomorrow night, alongside my mum, I'm finding the fact that I get to share this amazing night with her so overwhelming, it's the best company that I could have hoped for to keep me going through the wee small hours, as she did when Sam first came into the world, another high drama night awaits!

Word of the moment:overwhelming.
