Glass eyes and Not NEOS Neos.

Doors open day Aberdeen. Stuffed animals for us! Took the kids to the Cruikshank Buildings and the Aberdeen Uni zoology department to see their natural history collection. Needless to say that two things happened-

1. We took ages at the birds, as Sam explore every angle and wee ooooed and ahhhhhed.
2. Tess only realised halfway round that these weren't lovely models.......but DEAD ANIMALS. That took some readjustment and looking at the world in a whole new way.

We ended up mesmerised by some newts outside in the ponds, first we'd seen this year.

Meanwhile Dave was on Not NEOS Neos duty in good company at Meldrum town hall, exhibiting his photographic wares alongside some other artistic folks. He had felt this particular wee chap had been wary of him for a while so was quietly chuffed that through the power of a good book they had made friends. Thanks to Sarah for the picture!
