A glimpse of La Pena

Most of the morning was taken up with a meeting at the Mairie. The new administration has adopted the project of completing the restoration of the historic Anglican church built in the village by Rudyard Kipling and other English notables during the Belle Epoque. They have agreed on completing works that will allow it to be used as a cultural centre so long as we complete the ceiling and insulation with the help of a 20% grant from the Fondation Patrimoine. That is a result! In the French conversation class, we discussed mushrooms, the Catalan separatist movement and the Scottish referendum as well as watching some news clips. It is always very varied!
