The Spider and the Fly

A vivid memory from childhood is my Dad reading stories to me. My favourite was the Billy Goat Gruff, but I also remember the poem of The Spider and the Fly. What i enjoyed most was the voices he adopted for each character. The spider was always sly! This spider probably didn't give the fly a formal invite to his parlour, but he was successful nevertheless!

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
