A slice of Lesley's life

Rio Seco ??

This is the river which changed our plans on Saturday. It really is called the Rio Seco and we have never seen it with more than an inch of water in it. After heavy rain all night and morning today it is showing us what it can do. Ironically? Coincidentally? None of the above? the river is flowing beneath our balcony. I've been wanting to try a tilt-gen picture but rarely seem to be high up so here's my chance. The murky brown water is an indication of the speed of the flow.

Looking back I'm glad we got the flat as, knowing us, we would have given crossing the river a go on Saturday and today we would be stranded there instead of heading home. Not necessarily a bad thing but I have a rehearsal tonight and we have work commitments this week. And more than that, we've had a more relaxing time than we could have imagined. We've all loved staying in a hotel, the kids especially who have requested a return visit. It's been one of those great short trips that feels so much longer than it actually was.

Off for final lunch on the beach before heading to the airport. Am feeling a little out of blip touch so will look forward to some journal browsing tomorrow.

Hasta luego
