A walk in the woods
Childhood thoughts mingle,
With fallen feathers and leaves,
Changing but the same.
... ... Went up to Essex for the weekend to go to my dear friend Annes 60th birthday party (I would have blipped a picture of her but they were all rubbish!).
I grew up in Essex and spent many happy times walking in the woods at Hockley. Even after leaving home, going back to visit back to my Mum and Dad often involved a walk in the woods with the dog. Then walks with Mark and then when the children came along it became part of their childhood memories to0. A special place to me.
We took the dog for a long walk here. While walking round, I picked up fallen feathers, as you do, and it seemed like a good idea to poke them into where my hair was clipped up ... hence the picture (taken by Mark).
Afterwards I went to take some flowers to my Mum and Dads grave and it seemed right to add the feather to the bouquet. Dad would have liked that.
Then it was off to the venue for Anne's party. Lots of fun and drinking and dancing .... can't believe we have known each other for so many years .... yet we all still feel the same inside ...
