Inspection Covers

These are part of the Haweswater Aqueduct which is an engineering marvel, carrying water from the Lake District to Manchester. They are very close to the point where the aqueduct crosses the river Lune near Kirkby Lonsdale.

I am sure the rather pointless looking ladders are a more recent addition in an attempt to comply with H&S!
