Underneath
I really don't know what to call this picture of the flowers I gave to my husband for Valentine's Day.
For one, I like how unexpectedly beautiful this flower is from underneath. It makes me think about relationships and how much of ourselves is hidden underneath the exterior gloss. When we look underneath it can be scary, but more beautiful than the surface.
My husband taught me about the beauty of back lighting in one of our very first dates over 20 years ago. He's still helping me to look past the surface.
This is for him.
P.S. Backblip of the light on Lake Ontario yesterday.
