Derby the Rabbit

We drove to Wellington this morning and spent the day there. We had a ride in the cable car, walked through the Botanic Gardens and then had a lovely lunch of Moules Frites in a Belgian bar with beautiful New Zealand green lipped muscles.

We then caught up with another old friend of Fred's, Megan, at her home in Petone, a suburb of Wellington. As we were getting close Fred got a text from Megan saying she was on the beach rescuing a rabbit with her 3 kids! On arrival, there was the rabbit, her 3 kids, a few other neighbourhood kids, and a not very happy husband!

The rabbit was named Derby in our honour.

We had a lovely evening with Megan and Chris, her husband, catching up and being fed and watered. Catching the ferry to South Island tomorrow.
