A flying canoe.
Strange what you see from the top of Arnside Knott. Sometimes it is hot air balloons, at other times it is para gliders with little motors attached. But this is the first time I have seen a flying canoe. It was gracefully and silently circling over the trig point at the top of the hill. But how did it get up there? Clearly the pilot could not have run to jump off the edge in a device of that kind. Was he pulled along by a speedboat in Morecambe Bay until he found a thermal?
After ten minutes of circling he certainly went off in the direction of the Kent Estuary as though he was going to land in the water. Unfortunately my view was obscured and I could not see whether he did so.
Very mysterious.
