So today we swapped the slot machines, college parties and slightly bizarre characters in Vegas for the business & beauty of San Francisco. This was taken from our hotel window overlooking the city and the bay. I was fortunate enough (I mean patient enough) to catch a tram going down the hill in the foreground.

Points of note already

• SF has a huge Chinese population. Chinatown is enormous
• They didn't lie about the gradient of the roads - oh my... Just google Lombard St San Francisco
• There are no casinos on view (thankfully)...
• They love a Starbucks here
