All kitties back home
Another smasher of a day for L at school. I love her in these afternoons where she's all tired but happy. Very cuddly.
Cat seems a lot brighter today too. He's still all wobbly and looks daft as hell but its nice to him about the place again.
Recently I've been going on a lot to friends and family about mindset. How often its our perception of an event that determines how we let it affect us, and how far a bit of gratitude can go. Last night, after we the problems with the cat, the vets bill that followed, the telly ended up breaking too. We went to bed talking about staying positive and being thankful for the good bits and not taking them for granted while making a special effort not to dwell. To my surprise I overhead E & M chatting this morning after breakfast. They we basically agreeing that they were the luckiest kids alive for having got their cat back yet again after the second accident in a few months. They believe it to be some kind of miracle. In their eyes, their good fortune was backed up by the TV breaking just 2 months after their grandad gave them a little one for their karaoke machine in their room because now they've been able to bring that one downstairs. One perspective may have left us all miserable, feeling like victims, dammed if we do, damned if we dont. The other makes us fell thankful and enables us to continue to take on the challenges of life with a positive head.
Sorry for waffling but its a refreshing perspective and reassures me that it is us that choses to train ourselves to feel sorry for ourselves and we are actually born with heaps of gratitude. Going to try and think like them more often.
