Not a sunset
When I was little and had problems sleeping, my mum use to come into my room and talk me through a self hypnosis method to help you shut down your mind. You imagine a high rise building with rows and rows of lights coming from each of the rooms in this building. As you count back from 100 you visualise each light switching off 1 by 1, as you work your way down. Eventually, you reach the last light and by this point, if you're not already, you should be well on your way to sleep.
I was hoping to catch the sun rise this evening. The sky during Bootcamp was beautiful but by the time I'd grabbed my camera I'd missed it. I found this, glowing through the Blum building and it reminded me of what I would visualise when I couldn't sleep. I still use this technique today.
I've spent part of the day listening to pod casts and trying to read books to help me find ways to calm down a bit and relax. I get myself in such a tizz about things that really are no big deal. It's become quite apparent to me since the kids went back to school that I'm flapping around, chasing my tail, when I really need to find a way to stop, breath and check whether calming down a bit would actually make everything happen a lot more smoothly.
Anyway, that's my self therapy session for today
