Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

An ex girlfriend.

We got the bus to the camera shop today - I bought a new lens cap months ago, and lost it within days, so I've really been meaning to get another one for ages. There is an old, almost blind, collie who lives in the camera shop. She was lying sleeping. Archie strained on the lead, yelped and whined and made such a fuss to get near her, but she didn't really want to meet him. I've never bought anything so fast, while shouting apologies over the racket he was making.

This annoying habit of barking and yelping loudly if he sees a dog and he's on the lead and can't get to them quickly enough to say hello is worse in the street, and often other dogs just don't want to meet him! I may need to carry my water pistol again.

From there we went back into town and then walked through the Meadows, the same route as yesterday. As we walked home, his other little girl friend was out in her garden. I've never see her, but JR has met her many times when out with Archie. Actually, she wasn't too chuffed to see him. In fact, at one point, she stood at the far end of the path and gave little howls. Perhaps she's found out that he's been seeing other bitches. He does have the look of a chap who's been found out to be a love rat in this shot. We departed quickly before the owner came out to see who was causing this distress.

His six month check up at the vet. He waist seems to be a centimetre or two too large (I know the feeling, Arch). The Snip has been booked in - Next Tuesday. No more procrastinating due to a couple of anti-social antics of late - 'marking'. Inside the house!! Our wee Archie has grown up.
