I thought I smelt smoke...
The quiet of a lazy Sunday morning was blasted apart by a cacophony of sirens, as no less than four large fire engines, a Fire brigade ambulance and car and police vehicles roared into the little road opposite us - and just as we were en route to the market, camera to hand. So of course I had to investigate and there was the lady in blue, telling the firemen about the smoke from her building. It turned out to be a very small fire on the first floor, so most of the vehicles and onlookers dispersed and we moved on to the market.
Spent the rest of the day firmly ignoring the urgent work that awaited me, until I could avoid it no longer. By which time I was running out of the last shreds of energy. Didn't manage to finish it, but d'you know what? It'll just have to wait until tomorrow.
