Singing with the band

Full day today. Drove at speed up a long and winding road to a wedding party in the hills (our first gay wedding). Great party in a beautiful setting, altogether a very happy occasion. Had to leave before the speeches and general merriment to head back down the road as HH - along with several others from the community - had a date to play with a Beatles cover band at a Beatles Night. The first of these was held 20 years ago, revived four years ago, and seems set to become an annual event.

The band leader is a talented amateur and member of the expat community, the other five are Brazilian and excellent professional musicians. Tonight, several enthusiastic amateurs took turns to join them on stage, including the vicar's wife, a violinist and folk singer with a CD and professional appearances to her credit, and HH, who's never happier than when he has a guitar in his hands. We had a super evening, people of all ages dancing and singing (the vicar's three children were having a ball, such fun to watch) and I was very proud of my old man.
