Pegasus Bridge

If you've seen the footage from D-Day showing the taking of Pegasus Bridge near Caen - or seen the movie The Longest Day - you may find this view familiar. The houses on the far side of this ( replacement) bridge seem just as they were 70 years ago.

I took this as we crossed the bridge to look for coffee and a sandwich to take away for our lunch after a visit to the museum.
