Sailing to Wolf Island

Here is part of the village of Ulvön, on the island of Ulvön (Wolf island). I was sailing out of the western end of the sound and looking back to the north-east as I took the photo.
The only way to get here is by boat. It can be the daily ferry, a taxi boat, or your own boat.
Most of the people who live here do so only in the summer, so the village is almost entirely deserted in the winter. Even now a lot of the summer visitors have gone home.
I sailed out in my own boat Lotta. The wind today was very variable so I used the outboard motor a fair bit.
The round trip is about 35 km. Out of the Mjällomfjärd (Mjällom fjord) , across to Southern Ulvön, up the outside of that island, through the sound between South and North Ulvön, and back home down the outdside of Southern Ulvön. (see map)
When I was still 10 km from my home jetty the wind died away altogether so I motored all of the final bit.
A fine late summer day out on the water, which still feels fairly warm.
